“The Super Bowl is the granddaddy of big event television, and our approach this year is unlike anything we have ever done,” said Leslie Moonves, President and CEO, CBS Corporation. “For the first time, CBS Corporation will have week-long, round-the-clock Super Bowl coverage on more than a half-dozen platforms. Creating CBS Super Bowl Park at Jackson Square as the center of all this activity will make it even more compelling, and also illustrate the collaborative efforts across the Company.”
And so, with eight of the ten total broadcast environments for the Sports Emmy-Award Nominated television event under his purview, Creative Director Jonathan Tessero oversaw the creative direction of both CBS Super Bowl Park, the four-stage production compound from which CBS broadcast over 40 hours of Super Bowl XLVII coverage, and CBS Radio Row, the audio-focused broadcast facility. Providing the first centralized, multi-platform local home for all of CBS’ assets in network and local television, radio, cable, premium television and digital outlets, the venture hosted 15 different shows from nine CBS divisions across sports, news, and entertainment.
CBS/CBS Sports Network was nominated for a 35TH ANNUAL SPORTS EMMY® AWARD for Outstanding Studio Design/Art Direction for Super Bowl XLVII!
